The Table Is a Powerful Image for us at First Presbyterian.

In sitting at table and eating with sinners as well as the righteous, Jesus showed his welcome to all of God’s children and invited each of them to follow him. The table is the place where we gather as the people of God to meet the risen and living Christ in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper.

The table reminds us of fellowship, love, and support experienced in meals shared with family and friends. All in all, the table points to the fellowship, discipleship, and spiritual nourishment offered at First Presbyterian Church to strengthen us all for life’s journey.

Friday, March 26 from 7:00-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m./  Basic Enneagram Workshop--First Presbyterian Church-Shreveport in the Christian Education Building.  Discover what "makes you tick."  this workshop will give greater understanding of the motivation that prompts our behavior; help us to recognize our gifts and the gifts of others; reveal the traps that can turn our gits into compulsions; show us our automatic and unconscious compulsions; and point out the direction we need to take to integrate our three energy systems-head, heart and instincts.  

Saturdays, April 10-May 1--Questions of Faith:  Engaging in Conversations with Your Child/ 10:00-11:30 a.m. First Presbyterian Church, Shreveport in the Christian Education Building.  The four week class will look at the tough questions of children through the lens of child development theoriesand theology.  Topics include:  Death and Dying, Sexuality/ Body Awareness, and Percieved Inequalities in our World.  Brunch included and childcare is available.  Register by calling Lona Lockard @ 222.0604 or email llockard@fpcshreveport.com

Thursdays, April 8, 15 and 22--Seeds For Change/ 6:00-7:30 p.m. Sci-Port IMAX Theatre 820 Clyde Fant Pkwy.  Discover the Curent U.S. food system from farm to table.  Join us to learn about the health benefits for you, farm animals and the rest of the world of growing our own food close to home.  Registration/ FREE to Sci-Port members or $5.00 per session.  Call Sci-Port to register @ 318.424.8660

Thursdays @ 11:45 a.m.--Lectio Divina/ A time of prayer and discernment.  Prayerfully engage in a passage of scriptureand take time to reflect silently upon the passage as it speakes to each one personally and in turn share their insights.
