Specials About our Members
Congratulations to Mary Anne Selber for being selected as one of the Outstanding Leaders
for 2009 and being featured in The Times this Sunday. Mary Anne, this was certainly well-deserved.
Some of you also would be interested
in the connections of others who were selected for this Outstanding Leaders honor. Dr. Juan Watkins is the husband of Bonnie
Watkins, who will be teaching our class February 7 – 28. Arthur Thompson is a past-president of
Providence House. Harry McInnis is the
President of McInnis Brothers Construction that is the contractor on our church
capital project.
Lee Morgan looks better every week he
is back with us after being away for some time due to illness.
We still need some news about other
class members. Please provide some
information that can be shared with our class.
Who else do we need to check on?
When the Seekers Class was organized we wanted this class to provide fellowship, lasting relationships, care for each other, and communication, as well as having meaningful studies each week in our class. This purpose is being fulfilled for the most part, and we can do this more fully by providing appropriate information that can be communicated in this weekly E-News. Please let me know about anything of special interest that has happened to you or any of our class members that can be passed along via this E-News. Our class members would really like to know your news.

The McInnis Brothers construction trailer is now in our parking lot for the beginning of work on our capital project. Initial work will begin on the outside waterproofing, the stone around the roof, and replacing the slate on the sanctuary. Also, some of the areas in the west side of the church building are being vacated to get ready for the inside construction work.
“Meals on Wheels” needs help and
donations. You may contact Caddo Council
on Aging for assisting them.
Remember if you make
a pledge to Red River Radio (KDAQ Public Radio) of an amount of at
least $120 per year, you can charge it on your credit card monthly
or quarterly; and First Presbyterian can get some air time advertising our
church activities. Please contact Jean Mendenhall if you have contributed
this year to Public Radio or if you do contribute in the future, and she will
contact KDAQ to schedule the Day Sponsorship ad for the church. She announced that Public Radio needs your
help and said to contact her for a special program of Day Sponsorships for our Taize Services.
